What I love to do this time of year, is to finally open the windows and let the fresh air in. Breath in the higher levels of oxygen it brings in and let any contaminants in your indoor air out of your home, such as carbon dioxide and VOCs. According to the EPA, VOCs are two to five times higher indoors than outdoors. They come from numerous items, such as craft projects, appliances, carpeting, furniture, and dry-cleaned clothing, to name a few. It can also prevent any condensation forming that could create mold.
The benefits of fresh air are lower heart rate and blood pressure and expedite any healing in your body, plus it is a mood booster.
Also, according to the World Health Organization, poorly ventilated buildings can increase the risk of disease transmission.
So open those windows and let the fresh spring air in! Just breath it in! Enjoy!
